Criss Cross Applesauce
I decided a couple weeks ago to get a permanent baby sitter for Lenni on Mondays and Wednesdays. It has been the best thing for my sanity but also allows me to spend more time with Kody. Yesterday we decided to hike the cross in Simi. It was such a beautiful day we HAD to take advantage of the great weather!!You can see the cross at the top of the hill...we had a ways to go! Kody was so good about not "rushing" up there. We stopped to check out some plants and "jewels" (broken glass on the ground). We especially loved to stop and turn around and see all the progress we were making!
WE MADE IT! We only stayed at the top for about 15 minutes due to the wind- but we had a good time checking out the view.
I love this picture and I love this kid! I am grateful for the relationship I have with him and how special he makes me feel on a daily basis.

The birds and the bees....and popcorn?!?
So this morning Kody and I were laying in bed talking about having another baby brother and/or sister. (when you do IVF- the prospect of twins, triplets, etc... is always on the forefront of your mind, and when you are looking at minimum $15,000 and over 300 daily shots for the next couple of years- I needed to know how everyone in the family felt before we plunge ahead. Hence the conversation with Kody this morning.) Any ways, I thought I would see how much he knew about HOW a baby was concieved and this was his reply:
Me- Do you know how babys are made?
Kody- Yes.
Me- How?
Kody- They start out as a little popcorn and then the popcorn pops and then it makes a baby.
Me- OK. Good. Im glad we had this talk.
Are you kidding me? Where in the heck did this kid get this information? Popcorn?? Really?

American Idol
I need to get somethings off my chest about last nights show:
There is something about this kid that is so feminine I have a hard time believing he is a he. If you take away the dreads- I am most certain that he could pass with flying colors for a she. He is pretty. For a he/she. He's got great teeth too. Something us "post adult braces wearers" notice instantly. Why are all the boys so pretty this season?

Does this boy remind anyone else of Jessica Alba? I can't get over how much they look like each other. He's very pretty too. And I like his spunky attitude-ish. I don't know about his voice though. (singing AND talking voice) Both bother me to no end. Something about him just screams GO HOME! But he is very pretty to look at.

This boys has the best lips I have ever seen. When he sings- all I can do is think about how I want to kiss his lips. He's only 16. And I am married. Two things that make it very wrong. (not to menion illegal) But I love his lips.
(ALL CAPS FOR ADDED DRAMA) THE PONY TAIL THROUGH A BASEBALL CAP IS THE WORST HAIR DO EVER INVENTED! (YOU KNOW THE KIND WHERE YOU USE THE BACK OF THE BASEBALL CAP AS THE PONY TAIL HOLDER) IF YOU MUST WEAR IT, AT LEAST USE A REGULAR PONY RUBBER BAND AND THEN PUT IT THROUGH THE BACK OF THE HAT. MAYBE ADD A CURL OR TWO TO YOUR HAIR SO IT DOESNT LOOK SO AWFUL. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT WEAR YOUR HAIR LIKE THIS AND CALL ME YOUR FRIEND. I WILL MAKE FUN OF YOU. PROMISE.
I have been wanting to get that out there for a while. I feel better now.

It feels like home to me....
I got tagged to answer these questions about my significant other. And since I am a sucker for these "tags" I thought I would give it a whirl.
What a perfect day to reminise about how it all began...
What is your hubby's name? Jared Hyde. I normally call him Jarhead, Jar, J-rod, Rod, JJ, or J-red. I save "daddy" for special times. jk.
How long have you been together? We started dating in October of 2002 and got married in October of 2003. Wow- time flies!!
How long did you date? Which time? The time BEFORE he broke up with me for another girl, or AFTER he begged me to give him another chance? Doesn't really matter because even though he was "with" another girl for a few months- we still went out anyways so I would say a year total.
Who said I love you first? For sure HIM. After he said it- I was so shocked that I just said Thank you. How lame is that?!?
Who is taller? Jared if I don't have heels on.
Who is smarter? We both have our strong suites, but I would sadly say him. I mean, I'm smart but he is just a little teeny tiny smart-er.
Who does the laundry? I sort, wash, fold, and stack in piles of rooms they go in. His job is to put away.
Who does the dishes? Me. I wash and start the dishwasher, he empties it and puts away.
Who sleeps on the right? We take turns for the coveted right side! Right now- he's there. Next week- it's my turn!
Who pays the bills? All me. He makes the money- I spend it. I'm noticing a theme in our marriage...
Who mows the lawn? that's cute.
Who cooks dinner? Me. But he's pretty good about ordering and picking stuff up!
Who drives when you are together? For the sake of our marriage ME!
Who is more stubborn? Me. When he tries to be all bad a$$- it makes me laugh.
Who kissed who first? He kissed me. I am a good girl. I don't do that sort of stuff.
Who asked who out first? We "hung out" as friends for a couple months. One night we went to dinner and Jared and this other guy (that I thought was cute) both had seats by them that I could have sat in. I picked Jared and the rest is history!
Who proposed? Jared.
Who has more siblings? He does.
Who wears the pants? I'd like to say we both wear a leg, but who are we kidding. Jared would probably say him though but only if you asked him while I wasn't around. He wears the pants while he's at work and I wear them while I'm home. So- we take turns.
I love you J-red. You are the best and only decision in my life I have never doubted for even a second. You have rescued me from a life of bad grammar, sun burns, and construction! Thank you thank you thank you! I love you the most-est! From here to a hundred million miles above the sun.

Shout out # 13 and # 14

By far my most favorite thing to love! Kody Gage and Lennix June! My heart smiles at the mere thought of them. There are so many things I love about these two little humans this post could go forever. For the sake of everyone reading (yes, I know EVERYONE reads my blog) I will try and keep it sweet and short. Let's start with the man. Kody- I love every inch of this kid. I have said from the day he came into this world that he is an "old soul". He just "gets" things like no other kid I've ever met. I'm not talking about school things, I'm talking about life things. He has such a strong sense of self and never doubts himself. I love being a mother to this boy. He is such a joy to have around the house. The best big brother you could ask for! He is a hard worker and loves to play even harder! Now that we have him full time, I feel like our family is complete. It never got any easier when he had to go to his other dads house. Every time he walked out that door- a piece of my heart went with him. I am grateful that this little man was brought into my life almost 8 years ago. He truely is the best thing that has ever happened to me!
My baby girl Lennix. Who by the way- had her first birthday yesterday! I have a 1 year old!! Someone asked me today how old she was, and I teared up when I answered "She's one". This little girl makes me so aware of my feminine side. I feel empowered by raising a girl. Like, if I can somehow figure out to raise her to be the woman I know she was born to become- I will change the world. She instinctivly knows how to carry a purse, push a stroller and mother her "baby". This baby girl is ALL things GIRL! She laughs with so much gusto you can't help but join her. She has her daddy (and mommy AND brother AND grandma AND Uncle Steven) wrapped around her finger and she knows it. I love her smell and her chubby little thighs. I love her curly hair (so what if I have to help it along...) and the way she rubs the top of her head after I take her pony-spout out. I love that she is interested in plants and dirt but doesn't like to get too dirty. It's because of her that we will probably head back down to Beverly Hills to do IVF again. With a baby that cute- how can you not?
I love my kids. I love being a mom. I love being THEIR mom.
