Scooping up the field mice and bopping em on the head...

Let me introduce you to the only bunny left. I know what you're thinking, where did the time fly? But seriously, if I had to go out there one more morning and clean up after 7 rabbits- I was going to scream. So we called all the prospective parents and kindly told them "it was time." Off they went, one by one, (or in Janelle's case- 2 by 2) and we were left with just one little furry friend. Even Mama bunny- who by the way- started this whole fiasco was sent packing to some farm out in Moorpark. Here's the dilemma we face: The bunny doesn't have a name. This, is where you come in. I'm giving everyone out there, 72 hours to come up with as many names as you can think of that we can name our bunny. I will print out the possible choices and have Kody pick which ever name he likes the best. The winner will be chosen and sent something yummy in the mail! Go to Luvbugcookies.com and you will see the sweet reward the winner will be treated to. (They are a local company out here and are my latest obsession) I would love to tell you about the rabbit's personality so you can have some type of reference but really- he's (or she's) just a plain rabbit. "It" sleeps like a normal rabbit and eats like a normal rabbit, therefore taking "Sleepy" or "Eating Machine" out of the running. Just go where ever your creative juices take you and make some suggestions. You can make as many entries as your heart desires, but you only have 72 hours so you better think quick!
I have now opened my comments to any one who reads this blog. I have become an equal opportunity blog and it feels so good. I know you're out there lurking away (Aunt Donna, Sue, Norris, Jena, Kat- just to name a few ...) so go ahead...drop me a line so I know who you are. I just want to be friends and hug one out with ya.

Oh, he or she is a cutie! It's so big. I was expecting a very small bunny... not a rabbit! I believe a name has to have meaning behind it. Here's my entries...

1.)Shim or Shimmy - because you don't know if it's a he or a she.
2.)Gray - it's gray.
3.)Silvy - it's got a silver tint to it.
4.)Wheaties - I'm eating Wheat thins right now and it might like them too. Try it before you name him this.
5.)Fina - because I'm drinking an Aquafina water right now and I'm sure it would like it too. Aquafina is much better than Dasani by the way.

There's my votes! Sure hope I get one of those luv bug cookies in the mail! Common Kody, don't let me down.

I intend to take this seriously, so I will use all 72 hours I am given. I just wanted to tell you I am impressed that you actually raised and gave away 6 live rabbits. I would probably had a bunny cemetery in the backyard, and a lot of talks with Declan about death. Way to go, bunny mama!

After our morning "possible name reading" to Kody- his top three choices are (in no particular order...)

Mr. Johnson
Chewbaca
Hairy

Elisa- I suggest you really put your thinking cap on and come up with something new. I personally loved Fina but I don't think it's going to make the cut...

Tick Tock People...Tick Tock!!!

I don't think there is a better name than Mr. Johnson. By the way, does the bunny happen to be English?

Since our names at our house are very gloomy, I will suggest some that are more full of sunshine.

Sunny
Ray
No Clouds
Not Rainy
Not Stormy
Weezy
Gator
Chomper
Uno
Bunster
Happy Feet or Hoppy Feet (to be really cheesy)

I will be sure to keep thinking...
I want the damn cookies...

Again I'm laughing hysterically at Sharalyn. Yes Shannon I'm aware of your opinion on that.

Ok here's my attempt:
Fletch
Andrew
Lloyd
Webber
Joel
Barry
George
Smokey
Dolly
Blogger
Ditch
Braden
Tent
Kobe
Jackson

If none of these make the cut I have a second round of names.

You guys REALLY are blovers. I knew it all along. So that's where you go to when we don't here from you in a while...hey- no judgment going on over here...

On a lighter note- Yes, in fact the bunny is English Sharalyn. Is there any other Mr. Johnson? I didnt think so.

I'm opening up my comments to anyone that reads this. The competition is going to get a lot stiffer so I suggest you start thinking outside the box, Or outside the block as my ex would say... :P Had to throw that in.

edmundsfam said...

Apparently I need to bring my A game to this competition.

Laker
Shaq Daddy
Dancing Feet
Birthday Bandit
Puja
Mega Baby
Tu Tu
Strikz

Bring it on, bitches! (Sorry Sue)

PS. Robby and I are not exclusive yet...we're taking things slow.

I wasn't going to suggest any, but when I saw that Robbie put one of my boys names down (George), I find it appropriate to suggest....
1. Robbie the rabbit
2. or since Kody is a boy and rabbits do what they "doo"....Pooper is my suggestion, but I still think Robbie the Rabbit is perfect!

Kaye said...

Shannon, I just typed this up and submitted it, but then it didn't show up, so if it is a duplicate...sorry for being stupid.

Anyways, I wasn't going to run in this contest...cuz you know I like to win, and there is no way to cheat in this competition....but when I saw that Robbie put my son's name down for the rabbit I couldn't help but to resist this suggestion:

"Robbie the Rabbit"

Here is my second one. Since Kody is the official name picker, and he is a boy, and rabbits do what they "doo", I am submitting the name Pooper.

But, I still think Robbie the Rabbit is best!

I'm sorry, Mr. Johnson is better and more British than anything I can come up with. I totally and cheerfully defer to Shar on that. The only possible second is Dancing Feet. (I am trying to teach this tradition to Greer, by the way. So far, she's not a dancer.)

Jennie said...

Spike
Bugs
Speed Racer
Sparky
Lucky
Charms
Cheerio
Pepper

S.Miles said...

Funny you should mention passing on the tradition. We started Lenni doing dancing feet and i'm not going to lie- the girl has some serious moves. She will however, only do dancing feet if she is standing on the kitchen table. weird.

Cali just fell off the chair laughing at Puja. Here are her suggestions:

Poochie
Billy Bob
Kody
Bouncey

Reading Sharalyn's NKOTB post reminded me of high school (elementary school for you i'm sure) and that gives me an idea for a name. My friend Angie used to use the word "doink" for sex, and since we know that's what rabbits do best, it's:

Doink, or
Doinker.

Now YOU have the most comments of everyone! Dangle chocolate chip cookies, and they come a'runnin.

edmundsfam said...

Look at you with all your comments. Just don't let it go to your head.

Robbie said...

Shar I'm all about taking it slow...just not too slow. Have we even determined if this rabbit is a male or female yet? That would help in determining a name. I feel like I'm pulling stuff out of thin air. Can you give us some background on the rabbit? What kind of movies does it like? Favorite food? Anything that could give us some insight. Here's a few more...
scruncher
itchy
gavin
doorstop
Ms. Poppins (since it's British)
Bert
Mr. Banks

I'm in a naming stump. After looking at your suggested names, I really like Smokey & Pete (slight differences to the above suggestions). Or how about "Lone-star"? He is the last one standing, right?

Why would someone anonymously suggest names? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose? If anonymous wins I think we should draw for the cookies.

S.Miles said...

Robbie- those "anonymous" comments were left by my mom who is new to this whole blogging thing- so why don't you just get off her damn back. I was just happy that she left a comment at all and you have to go and ruin it by making fun of her. Seriously, kick her why she's down why dont you. Apparently not everyone has the computer skills like you do! :P I think maybe an apology might be in order...

Justin said...

Watch out Robbie remember how freakishly strong she is. We better see a post about that soon.

redstarmama said...

Ok, having strained my brain to be creative, here are my submissions:

Walter
Argento (argent is silver in French, right Robbie?)
Alfalfa
Babbitt (a tribute to my own long deceased bunny friend)
Marco
Ezekiel (Zeke for short)
Solomon (I love this name but Justin hates it, so I am bestowing it upon the bunny.)

Justin suggests:
Amsterdam

Talk about jumping on someone's back...good gosh Shannon!! Seriously, what is going on over there?! On the Sabbath no less!! I would ask how church was but I guess I can tell by your comment that it was just great.

This is very difficult for me but here goes...Sister Hambly, with all the love and regret that any human can possibly possess, from the bottom of my still-beating heart, I offer you my deepest and most sincere apology for 'kicking you while you were down'. Please accept this apology as a humble token of my sincere regret for my thoughtless and inhumane remarks on the aforementioned blog. I hope you will accept this apology and we can be friends again.
